If there is one thing I've learned about a democratic society, it is that you should never underestimate the power of masses of stupid people to make poor decisions based on faulty logic or just plain fallacies. Ah well, I guess the alternative is to have one person in power making the stupid decisions. That doesn't seem to work very well either. The comments depress me too.
