There Is No Death

11 Jan

Walking in the Bayeux War Cemetery is a solemn experience.  Soldiers of all nations, enemy and ally, lie side by side.  Their epigraphs speak of love, loss, heroism, and mankind’s folly.  The cold stones marking where they lie are a sobering reminder to us, 60 years later, of the reality of war.  The young men lying here had nothing to do with the cause of the war, nor the horrors that both sides created.  They simply fought for their country, and died.  Their graves speak their story to us.
